What kinds of C-PAP Alternative treatment options do we offer?

  • Dorsal - The Dorsal is a relatively new applicance on the market. It is unique in that the upper and lower component of the appliance are not connected as with other oral appliances, but are still adjustable. This allows for sull opening of the mouth, which improves comfort and is helpful in certain cases.
  • EMA (Elastic Mandibular Advancement) - The EMAs primary function is to bring the jaw forward and keep the airway open. One of the major advantages of the EMA is its smaller size as well as its flexibility. Various lengths of flexible bands are used to adjust the position of the lower jaw. The EMA is one of the most comfortable of the oral appliances.

What are side effects of Sleep Apnea?

  • Weight gain
  • Insomnia
  • Sleep loss of bed partner
  • Jaw Pain - also known as TMJ/TMD Disorder
  • Anxiety or Depression
  • Hypertension
  • High Cholesterol
  • Day-time sleepiness

If your physician believes that your snoring is not a symptom of a more serious sleep disorder breathing problem, an oral appliance can be used to quiet your snoring and improve sleep!
